Dear Alex and Anna,
We just came back home from a really fun Christmas and New Year's vacation with Baba Roumi and Dyado Nasko. I wish I had time to write about all the interesting things that happened. We went to mountains, beaches, and even Disneyland (without Anna).
Alex, you have a wonderful way with words, as usual. For example, you told us (very proudly): "I slept in my own bed and I had to flip to uncold my cheeks." Cold cheeks are a big problem at night, even in California. I wish you would keep sleeping in your bed at home, too, but you are determined to sneak out as soon as you can and go to Baba's bed. Last night you kept interrogating me about Daddy's work plans -- is he still at the computer, and when is he going to bed? Such concern for Daddy all of a sudden...
Anna, you seem to be getting cuter every day. You found a used q-tip the other day and proceeded to clean behind your ears. At least you didn't try to use it as a telephone (like you do with a variety of strange objects, including chicken legs, spoons, remote controls, and french fries, to name a few). You are really anxious to walk, but not quite stable enough. Your favorite words right now are "daddy!", which you say very possessively, and "tata" or "dada", which you say about anything that excites you. Unfortunately, "Ma!" and "Mama" are reserved for mostly painful and unhappy occasions, and you usually say them in an angry voice. Oh well, it's time to be nice to daddy for a while, I guess, when you are not trying to gouge out his eyes or tear his ear off. Speaking of which, you are still incredibly violent. I don't know how to get you to show your affections in a little less painful fashion. Hopefully this is just a phase that you'd grow out of (or we should start looking for deals on skin transplants).
Lots of love,
Mommy
