Dear Alex,

It's been a whole month since I last wrote and many, many interesting things happened. First, here is the poem you composed while we were coming home from the bookstore in early March:

Oh, my little black cat,
Why are you so fat?
What have you been eating?
(March 6, 2004)

A few days later you told me about some of your dreams -- I wish I could have written it all down, but here is one:

Alex: "I went to a big mountain with many trees and many beautiful flowers. Then I saw something."
Me: "What did you see?"
Alex: "A big poop!"

Mmm, yes, very ... surprising. Finally, this just happened today when we came home from school (really, it's not an April's fool joke):

Me: "Please recycle this mail."
Alex: "Because they are doomed?" (slightly concerned sounding)
Me: "Doomed? I guess you could say that."
Alex, more confidently: "They are cootie-doomed!"

I love your "out-there" moments, and I'm sure there will be a lot more of them.

Here you are downtown, where we went with Chicho Vihren while he visited.
