Dear Anna,
You are such a big girl now, but you still look quite babish, with those adorable huge cheeks of yours. Still violent, too, I'm afraid. Pinching is all the rage now. You also started biting, which I hope stops before becoming a daycare problem. You are running, climbing like a monkey, and doing all kinds of crazy things (like eating strange food combinations). You also really really want to help with the housework, so when there isn't anything to do, you most helpfully throw food on the floor. That gives you a chance to practice your sweeping. It took me quite a long time to realize that I *shouldn't* sweep up the things you throw while you are still trapped in your chair. That made you quite angry. Silly Mommy....
You are a brave swimmer and don't seem to worry about not being able to reach the bottom. You hate the lazy river (I think the big bubbles are the scariest, which of course are also your brother's favorite part). That's unfortunate since it was the only way Mommy and Daddy can take a break from chasing you around the pool. Oh well.
You talk, mostly Annanese, but you do say quite a few full sentences. It sounds a lot like you are talking through a thick sponge, but the grammar is pretty good. Your only problem is calling all possible foods and drinks "cracker", so there is the "milk cracker", and the "raisin cracker", and the "water cracker", and yes, even the "cracker cracker", which is, in fact, a real cracker.
You have a great sense of fashion, and are quite a poser!
Occasionally, though, you have a bit of trouble figuring out which end should be up.
And you love your brother, you just don't like having to share photo-ops.
Love you lots,
Mommy

Dear Alex,
A lot of interesting things have happened since I wrote last. I really need to be better about writing things down, but this is still better than not writing at all. Here are some of the highlights of the last few months:

A lot of interesting things have happened since I wrote last. I really need to be better about writing things down, but this is still better than not writing at all. Here are some of the highlights of the last few months:
You started swimming last week! Just like that, you are now swimming for as long as you can hold your breath (still working on learning how to breathe without drowning). It's really amazing how well you do it now that you are not afraid at all to be under water.
You say many funny things, but here is one that shows that you don't learn just good things at school. We were riding in the car, and you started singing "I want to throw up, throw up, throw up....". This was after you had lunch and a snow cone, so both Daddy and I immediately panicked. We shouldn't have been in such a hurry, however, as you continued, as happy as can be: "... my hands and praise the Lord!" At that point I almost had to pull over because I was laughing so hard. When I recovered, I asked you who taughed you this song, and you claimed it was a teacher... Sounds like a practical joke to me.
You are really helpful nowadays (when you feel like it). You get dressed, undressed, and use the bathroom on your own, and you even remember to flush occasionally. You help around the house, too, and I don't have to threaten you as often. The main problem currently is avoiding getting hurt by Anna, but that's not going to last long (I hope).
Love,
Mommy
