Wow, it's been almost a year. I did not intend to go silent for so long... Lots and lots of interesting things have happened, I'll have some significant catching up to do. Anthony, you are 16 months old, walking since you were 14 months, with a mouthful of teeth (16, to be precise), messy hair (still blond), and getting cuter as you grow (strange, but true). While you don't talk much (with words, anyway), you are an amazing singer. You pick up melodies quickly and sing them so well. You definitely prefer classical music, but don't mind a few traditional kids' songs. The Ode to Joy is a favorite, but the most surprising and funny melody you have done lately was the Darth Vader theme from Star Wars. You can probably imagine how hilarious it is to have a cute 16-month old sing that dread-inspiring tune.
Alex and Anna, you are bigger but not better. Anna, you are doing pretty well at school, still not reading, but getting close. Alex, you are refusing to learn the multiplication table, and neither positive nor negative motivations are working. This is pretty strange, since you apparently have no trouble with division with fractions (which I don't believe you have to do for a year or two yet), especially when they are phrased in terms of money and McDonalds items. Hm, if only I could come up with the McDonalds version of the multiplication table. Anyway, I'm sure eventually you'll learn this, but it's a frustrating time for all of us.
Anna, back to you -- you are one of the cutest girls I've seen (still!), but I wish you would stop undressing in front of the web cam. I won't tell you what profession you should choose when you grow up, but I certainly hope it won't be something involving undressing (and dancing while you are doing it) in front of a large audience.
All for now, will try to do more sooner than next year! Love,
Mommy
