Oh, no, it's been over a year! Sorry for not updating. I have quite a bit of catching up to do...
Alex and Anna, you flew by yourselves last summer for the very first time and are doing it again this summer! I consider it quite successful since you were not thrown out of the plane halfway to California. Alex, we had our first backpacking trip, albeit a short one, in Coyote Creek Canyon in Utah in April, 2009. It was really great, even with the rather long hikes every day. Here you are, enjoying Las Vegas after the hiking.

We went to other canyons on a different short trip, Anna was there, too.

You and Anna started summer camp again, and because the fun there is just not enough, you go fishing at our pond almost every evening. The poor fish are getting a rather thorough and unpleasant education.
Anthony, you were diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder this spring, which is no fun, but what is fun and truly amazing is that you started talking, in just a few short months. You love going to preschool and obviously learn a lot there. I expect you to start programming any day now -- you are faster at figuring out how to do things on computers than most adults I know. You are still the happiest creature I know, and even without talking, you make everyone around you happy. If only you'd start using potty, life would be perfect!
Here you are, after winning the Superfriend award at school. Your prize was a lovely purple Platypus, which generally spends most of its time in our bed now.

Love and kisses,
Mommy
